Battle Shapers
Battle Shapers 0.2 Update Brings New Enemy and New Ways to Destroy Them
Posted October 31, 2023Montreal, Canada - October 31st, 2023 - Metric Empire’s debut title Battle Shapers launched into Early Access and the team is unleashing the first update for the roguelite FPS. Update 0.2.0 is now available and features a new weapon, a new ability, a new enemy, and a brand-new feature that allows players to more easily modify their loadouts when they want to mix things up after a challenging run.
Thundersnap is the new ability is 0.2 and it summons striking shaper-bolts that zap multiple enemies in a cone shape directly in front of the player. It not only hurts the enemies, it causes a brief stun and temporarily lowers their damage output. The Infernal Stinger is a damage-dealer of a different kind, giving players a powerful charge rifle that unleashes 6 superheated bolts of Pyro-based energy.
One enemy that will be on the receiving end of the new additions to your arsenal is the Pyronaut, a brute who fires napalm bombs that leave hazardous material on the ground. Instead of a shield like the similar Juggernaut, the Pyronaut has two flamethrowers that will cook you alive if you get too close. The Pyronaut will provide a fresh world of hurt that players will have to plan for in their runs.
Power Transfer allows players to transfer their mods from one weapon or ability to another. This is a fantastic feature that exemplifies Metric Empire’s desire for players to easily get into another run at one of the challenging bosses and their equally challenging enemy-riddled towers. Replayability is a core pillar in Battle Shapers and Power Transfer is one of those sneaky valuable additions that players will cherish on those especially challenging roguelite runs. This replaces the Recycling completely and, if you’ve unlocked the Recycle talent in a previous build, you will automatically have access to Power Transfer.
Metric Empire is on track with the roadmap revealed when the release date was announced, so that means November will see the addition of a brand new location and an expansion of towers from 2 to 3. This is the first major Battle Shapers update in Early Access and the team is eager to see how players take to the changes. As development continues, the roadmap will evolve, so stay tuned for a new version as we get closer to 2024.
