Eternal Strands Officially Launches January 28, 2025, with a Stunning Soundtrack by Austin Wintory
Posted January 28, 2025Quebec City, Tuesday, January 28, 2025 – Yellow Brick Games is proud to announce the highly anticipated launch of Eternal Strands, the studio’s debut title, available starting today on Steam, the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox Game Pass, and STOVE. Alongside the game, players can also experience the breathtaking original soundtrack composed by Grammy-nominated and BAFTA-winning composer Austin Wintory (Journey, The Banner Saga, Stray Gods: The Roleplaying Musical).
Weaving Musical Magic with Austin Wintory
The Eternal Strands OST features 24 tracks in addition to 3 bonus tracks, each carefully crafted to reflect the game’s themes of connection, strength, and resilience. Inspired by the Japanese pottery tradition of “kintsugi,” the composer Austin Wintory has crafted the score using a blend of acoustic textures and experimental techniques, such as reverse audio processing and unconventional instrumentation, to create a soundscape that is both organic and otherworldly. His innovative approach elevates the soundtrack as an integral part of the game’s storytelling.

"Working with Austin was a delight. When we first started to create Eternal Strands, I couldn't have anticipated the direction the music would take. That surprise is honestly my favorite part of the result: a unique composition with stunning breadth.
The songs in this soundtrack range from soaring heroic anthems to intricate, creative pieces full of complexity. The former mood captures the driving force of our heroine, Brynn, who is determined to fix the problems she finds self evident within the Enclave. The latter, more intricate sounds evoke the fundamentally broken nature of the Enclave: a place wracked by disaster, division, and paralyzed by indecision, yet still worth saving and putting back together, stronger and better than before."

My number one goal in the score was to do justice to their vision. The score is a sort of "deconstruction" of many of the high fantasy tropes, trying to find fresh ways of express the grandeur of their story and world.
