CD PROJEKT RED, creators of The Witcher series of games, would like to invite gamers and media to watch the first ever GWENT Open tournament, taking place at this year’s gamescom in Cologne, Germany.
GWENT Open will see a total of 8 players compete for a piece of the $25,000 prize pool and a ticket for the next GWENT Challenger tournament. 7 of the participants are top GWENT players from among those who signed up to participate in the tournament, determined by their ranking on August 1st. Joining them as the final participant will be the winner of the gamescom-based Wild Card Qualifiers event.
The tournament’s main event will begin with the quarterfinals on Friday, August 25th, 12:00 PM CEST, and conclude with semi-finals and final match on Saturday, August 26th, also starting at 12:00 PM CEST. Both days of GWENT Open will be streamed live on the CD PROJEKT RED Twitch channel. The stream will be casted in English by Connagh “Merchant” Hawkins, Dane “McBeard” McBurnie, and Miguel “MegaMogwai” Guerrero León.
