11 bit studios Presents 11 Facts About INDIKA Ahead of Console Launch
Posted May 16, 2024Warsaw, Poland - May 16th, 2024 — INDIKA, an arthouse adventure game about faith, God, and religion, is primed to release on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S tomorrow. Publisher 11 bit studios and developer Odd Meter have compiled the strangest parts of their peculiar game in a brand new “11 Facts” trailer.
Unsurprisingly, considering the many deceptive elements in the game's design and storyline, this video is anything but ordinary. After all, nuns from the Russian Orthodox Church are not common heroines in video games, just as praying is not a common gameplay mechanic. The 11 Facts trailer even features INDIKA’s travel companion, the devil himself, who whispers blasphemously in your ear throughout the game. Check it out for yourself below!
Blending gameplay elements from adventure TPP games—including perplexing environmental puzzles, and even a glimpse of platforming—INDIKA offers much more than meets the eye. Released already on the PC, the game captivated audiences and critics, sitting at an aggregate review score of 80/100.
INDIKA’s aesthetics, design, and gameplay are influenced heavily by its mix of genres, however, its true essence lies in delivering cinematic storytelling reminiscent of the arthouse works of Yorgos Lanthimos, Ari Aster, and Darren Aronofsky. INDIKA focuses on its core purpose by touching on philosophical beliefs and aiming to provoke reflection on delicate themes.
INDIKA is available on PC, and launching on Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 on May 17th. A portion of the revenue generated from INDIKA will be donated to aid children affected by the war in Ukraine.
