Absurd Roguelike Lucky Tower Ultimate Out Now in Early Access

Stuttgart, Germany, September 13, 2024 - Lucky Tower Ultimate launched into Early Access today as the latest game from Studio Seufz – the indie studio behind The Longing – and publisher AMC Games. Based on the Flash game series, this 2D slapstick roguelite features a comedic cast of enemies and potential allies, headlined by the bravest knight with the coolest hairdos: Von Wanst. Lucky Tower Ultimate launches for $14.99 USD, with a 10% launch discount running until September 20, 9am PT.

Starting its Early Access journey today, the Studio Seufz team are delighted to share the game with their community. “Lucky Tower Ultimate is the funniest game we've ever made,” said Anselm Pyta, co-designer and lead artist of the Lucky Tower series. “We’re still adding a bazillion ridiculous things before version 1.0, but now is the right time to show it to players and take them with us on the journey.”

During Early Access, there will be three major milestone updates and a capstone update for the 1.0 release — a new area, The Cave, will be added to the game in the first milestone update. Reminiscent of the labyrinthine caves of The Longing, this area will offer an alternative path for players to escape the tower.

Additional updates will include even more companions, traps, items, and quests provided by characters in the village. The final capstone update will feature the True Ending of the game. The 1.0 is expected to launch in 2025 on PC for Steam and Epic Game Store.

Studio Seufz was founded in early 2017 by Stefan Michel, Anselm Pyta and Benedikt Hummel, and is based in Stuttgart, Germany. Benedikt and Anselm have known each other since school, which led to the creation of various web games like Lucky Tower or Murder. The studio is committed to creating animated films and indie games for young adults, focused on emotional and existential content with an accessible design.

 

The studio’s first commercial game release is Anselm Pyta’s The Longing, which was awarded the Long Feature Award at A MAZE. Berlin, a German Video Game Award for best debut and was a finalist for the Nuovo Award at the IGF in 2020. The game was released March 5th 2020 to critical acclaim and an enthusiastic community of players.
