To the Star Shoots Illuminates a Land of Wonder and Whimsy With Gameplay Reveal Trailer
Posted June 27, 2024 Today, Covenant.dev has revealed the first look at gameplay for their next title, To the Star, a charmingly whimsical adventure game that emphasizes creativity and (Brief)base building to progress through the magical world towards the ultimate objective - a fallen star.
You will travel through a strange land filled with unique creatures and remarkable vistas and literally carry the world on your back as you do so! The magical briefcase allows you to jump into it anytime, and build your base in a private dimension, a.k.a ‘Briefbase’. So after you’ve done some exploring, fighting, and gathering materials you can then invest them not only into farming resources but also to Skillbuildings, which in turn improves your character’s abilities in the world, letting your progress further on your journey.
In addition to the base-building and ability-enhancing element that your Briefbase provides, it is also a save space for any crafting experiments. In To the Star, you are able to mix and match any type of ingredients you will find within a given crafter to create outlandish items that can then be consumed, thrown at a co-player, or shot at an enemy. The freedom of being able to turn almost everything into a projectile opens up a ton of possibilities for emergent gameplay in this whimsical world.
Lastly, you are able to customize your Briefbase to reflect your personality by changing the skybox, background objects, daytime, and more.. You can even upload your own music and soundtrack to play while hanging out in your private dimension!
The team has already run a few successful playtests on an early build, and they invite players who are interested in shaping the future of the game to join the To the Star Discord server and the community who are hard at work co-creating the world.
